The main characts are a wealthy, yet not uptight couple-Marissa and Matthew Bishop At first they seem to be fairly perfect and have it all until…..Marissa is unfaithful. In the beginning it seems the best move to make is to seek therapy with Avery Chambers. Very unconventional therapy. OK at this point I am all in.
When they meet and Marissa drops the bomb about why they are in therapy, prepare to hunker down and read like a woman or man obsessed. Poor Matthew doesn't even have a chance. He is blindsided by this admission of guilt. He didn't even know what the meeting was about. Not even the tiniest clue of who they were seeing. Buckle up now.
Both of these authors are phenomenal, in my opinion, at speed of story. They know exactly how to give you the drama in perfect equal measurements. The first big one, like I said was the affair. Bam that hits you hard. Follow this news with the unorthodox ways of the therapist. I wonder what Avery charged the Bishops. She is in every aspect of their life. Whenever you think someone may be watching, being followed? Yeah she is there. It was sick!
I also really enjoyed the descriptions, scenery, neighborhoods thrown in to show they care enough about details. As with their other works, this is not overly wordy, everything is just right.
The best part was the FDA and several conspiracy theories are thrown at me. We are taken on the history of Avery, which is unreal.
Bringing this masterpiece book to a conclusion worthy of 5 * in a way that this duo can. I totally say read it now. Don't take your time, just read, let it soak in and then it will stick with you for a while.
